"Some men see things as they are and say why.
I dream things that never were and say why not."
Senator Robert F. Kennedy

We dreamed of solutions and said let's do it.”

Dream Waves America, Inc. is a non-profit that was originally organized to provide free boat rides to honor all service men and women for their selfless dedication to their country. We have expanded our scope of free services to provide a few hours of boating relaxation to others with serious disabilities and their care-giving families.
We provide these nautical recreational services on the calm, scenic waters of the St. Lucie River in Stuart, Florida. We feel that all men, women, and children are able to enjoy boating despite their limitations, and hope that for a few hours; we can make their lives a little less stressful and a little more enjoyable. Our 32’ Chris Craft Express has been adapted to accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and other mobility-aids; so there is no disability that should prevent anyone from enjoying nature and the great outdoors. Being a disabled person from any cause, at any age, presents many life challenges; enjoying a few hours in the outdoors with nature should not be one of them!
An average cruise on the river is about two hours, but each trip can be tailored to suit the passengers’ comfort level and desires. These trips provide an opportunity for everyone to use their senses to enjoy the best nature has to offer. Experience the unmistakable smell of salt air, see majestic sea birds in flight, watch performing dolphins, and feel the gentle motion of the tides coming and going. We provide ice, waters, soft drinks and paper goods. Passengers can bring sandwiches if desired, or cruises can be shortened to allow time for lunch at several casual harbor-side restaurants. Either way, don’t forget the camera!
All of us at Dream Waves America are volunteers. We do not receive any money at all. Our goal is to stay small enough to manage, but grow large enough to serve as many as possible. What will keep us manageable are the directors who have been here from day one; what will make us grow are the many supporters who have helped in the past and are needed in the future.
Our major expenses are insurance and fuel. On behalf of all the men, women, and children who will be able to enjoy boating despite their limitations, we thank you for your generosity. It would be difficult for us to offer these services without the financial assistance from caring people like you. Please donate.
