Great News! Our new boat is a 1987 Chris Craft, 32' Amerosport Express

and it should be handicap-accessible by May, 1.

(While Florida weather is usually great, each day of rain has set us back.

We are working as hard as we can, and expect to be ready by early May.)

St. Lucie Marine is generously providing hauling, launching, and workspace so we can re-configure the stern of the boat and add a transom door and a ramp to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids. We are very grateful for their help. You can call St. Lucie Marine at: 772 - 692 - 2000.

All fiberglass work is complete and new Star Board sliding doors have

been installed at port aft storage area. Next is finish sanding and painting.

Electrical system, generator, and main engines,

have been serviced and are all working well.

ADA approved aluminum wheelchair ramp was delivered 4/20/2012.

3/8/2012, Wheel chair opening is ready for finish sanding and to be prepped for paint work. These past weeks, volunteers spent many hours buffing and waxing all the areas that were not being fiberglassed.

12/21, Both sides of the opening are ready for fairing compound

12/20, Final layers of mat have been layed up on both sides of the opening

12/16, First three layers of mat have been layed up on both side of the opening

12/10, Insides of plywood cores have been fiberglassed and bonded into place.

11/25, Deck extension has been installed and side cores are being fitted.

11/14, Rough cuts for transom door have been completed. Finished size will be 39 1/4" wide and accommodate wheelchairs up to 36" wide. The next step is to install the extension of the deck.

On 11/12 we marked out the opening for the transom door and made cuts.
