JOSEPH T. CANNEY, JR., PRESIDENT / TREASURER
“Captain Joe” is a life-long boater who has a 100 ton, unlimited passenger license from the U.S. Coast Guard. He spent over twenty-five years as a vocational high school instructor in New England helping to educate and teach the auto body, and marine boat repair trades to disadvantaged teens and young adults. He moved to Stuart, FL from New England after retirement, and continued to enjoy his passion for boating. After a near-fatal heart attack in late 2010 “Captain Joe” established Dream Waves America. Through the relaxation and pleasure of boating, he hopes to improve the quality of life for OIF, OEF, all veterans, and as many disabled persons and their care-giving families as possible.
